EDUCATION FOR THE UNPRIVILEGED CHILD, SIX-UNIT CLASSROOM BUILDING PROJECT COMMENCE FOR ATUNA AND 4 OTHER SURROUNDING VILLAGES IN GHANA.

The Story of Atuna

Located in the heart of rural Ghana, Atuna is a small village with a big dream to provide quality education for its children. However, the village faces a daunting challenge inadequate educational infrastructure. Atuna is basically a Farming community. the people have lived in this community for so many years without any basic life necessity. Their struggle so much to access education, Proper healthcare, basic human infrastructure, water etc.

The Plight of the Children

The children of Atuna are eager to learn, but they lack a safe and conducive learning environment. The current school structure is dilapidated, with crumbling muddy clay walls with parts broken off, rusty roofs, and inadequate seating. During the rainy season, the school is often forced to close due to the fear off the collapsing of the building, leaving the children without access to education. Their eagerness to for education therefore leaves them no chance but to walk 10miles each day to Awisa which happens to be the nest town to school. How can a children of ages 4, 5, 6, etc be walking this distances everyday in the name of education which s suppose to be easily accessed. The most Unfortunate situation is that, these children walk all this distance by themselves without the company of any adult, so what happens when there is a storm or any child gets sick along the the way.
